About Me:
Hello,
My name is Amanda.
I graduated from high school in May '09 in the top five of my class. People looked at me and thought I would go on to college and do wonderful things. Instead of bending to the will of others like I was accustomed to, I decided to take time off from school to persue other dreams. In 2011, my friend and I will be embarking on a round the world trip that will be last twelve months and take us through about twenty countries. We're looking to volunteer in any way that we can, because even though we're getting this amazing chance to travel the world we don't want to take it for granted.
When I get back in 2012, I plan on raising a little bit more money and then going to school full-time. I'm not entirely sure if I want to go into music business, show production, recording, or stick with my humanities and psychology like was planned earlier this year.
I like music, art, history, and writing. I like to go to concerts whenever I can afford it and I find that metal and Christian rock are the best concerts to go to. I've been lucky to see Slipknot, Korn, The Used, Dirtfed, Clutch, All That Remains, Disciple, Stellar Kart, Showbread, Ferras, Kutless, John Reuben, Seventh Day Slumber, Manic Drive, Christian 18:3, The Wedding, Sanctus Real, Lincoln Brewster, The Kickback, Camera Can't Lie, Agnes The Mother, and a few other great bands through festivals and concerts. I've also been lucky to meet Jon and Chad from Switchfoot, the guys from Manic Drive, Eric, Travis, and Kyle from Camera Can't Lie, David Cook, Billy from The Kickback, and Ferras.
Music is probably the hugest chunk of my life. I devote mass amounts of time to discovering new bands and listening to their material and then getting it out to my friends. I also mess around with the bass guitar and I look forward to one day being in a band with a positive message.
But then there's writing. I've been writing since I was eight and I can't get enough of it. My brain and body need it in my life. I hope to one day publish a book and rise among the ranks of JK Rowling and Stephen King.
But my biggest ambition is to really make an impact on the world and leave my footprint on people's hearts. I'm tired of being the person that nobody can remember. I'm ready to be someone that no one can forget.
